First iPad Car Install?
Now this is what we’re talking about. This car AV retailer isn’t crying about a changing market.Santa Clarita, CA SoundMan Car Audio’s manager Allyn Rahim is too busy posting YouTube videos, and fielding all the calls from the store’s iPad installation in a Toyota Tacoma.
The video below shows installer Doug Bernards installing the iPad just after it went on sale last Saturday.The single store, in business for 32 years, with sales of close to $1 million/year, says it too was seeing sales decline. So it starting beefing up its website, posting YouTube videos, creating “How To” videos and now the phone won’t stop ringing. Some of those phone calls actually translate into sales and business has improved, claims Rahim.
“You need to promote what you do; what you specialize in. You need to promote so they can see it online,” he said. Because that’s where people are….“Sales have been picking up in the past six months ever since we began promoting ourselves. It’s helped us a lot. We started a year ago, building a website, but we didn’t change it. Six to eight months ago, we began promoting with a forum and YouTube videos and How To videos. I get calls all day long now,” said Rahim.
SoundMan is a high end shop that does some custom work. It performed about 10 to 15 in-car computer installs last year and the numbers are increasing. We hope those iPad installs keep coming...

KINTO SOL-"LO QUE NO TIENEN"

Kinto Sol is a Spanish hip hop group with national recognition that is based out of Milwaukee.Kinto Sol began when three brothers, “Skribe”, “DJ Payback Garcia” and “El Chivo,” set out to pursue their passion in music..
In time, the brothers built a music studio first out of their home and then at their store focusing on various soundtracks and compilations, such as those DJ Payback Garcia gained notoriety for: “Aztek Zoulz” and “Hecho en Aztlan” both hip-hop compilations. Payback soon began to produce distinctive musical recordings. As a music engineer he has produced music for various groups and record labels. Currently he is working on the production of the new Kinto Sol album entitled, “Carcel De Suenos”, which will be released June, 2008.As Skribe and Payback dove into the music industry, a new world opened up for them, leading to the creation of hip-hop sensation Kinto Sol.Skribe recalls wanting to create something that had meaning, a vehicle that he could express himself through. Kinto Sol today has become just that, and more. It is the voice of people of all ages, race, and professions.Skribe's charismatic personality and drive, along with DJ Payback Garcia's keen sense of sound and El Chivo's popularity all make Kinto Sol. Their humility and hard work have led to the opening of many doors of opportunity to them and their efforts have not gone unrecognized, having most recently secured a working relationship with Universal Records.Through the years the group has created four Spanish language albums titled, “Del Norte al Sur,” “Hecho En Mexico,” “La Sangre Nunca Muere,” and “Los Hijos Del Maiz.”Their most recent album, “Los Hijos Del Maiz” was released on February 13, 2007. This album has become what they have strived for over the years, a vehicle to positively express who they are and to disseminate information and to make statements about different social issues. It won Billboard’s best Latin Hip-Hop album of the year.With Kinto Sol (Skribe, Payback and El Chivo) now well established, the brothers say it has been a blessing to do what they love to do on a daily basis. “It is hard work but well worth it”.The brothers are currently working on various projects through their record company, Virus Enterprises.
